A Common Sense Approach At-Store Reclamation™ a proven, economical and trusted process that reclaims unsaleable products directly from grocery stores, in accordance with agreed industry guidelines, using a common sense approach: Regular Visits: APS uses a fleet of vehicles to visit retail grocery stores on a set schedule, usually weekly. Scanning and Processing: Trained/uniformed APS Crew sort and scan the unsaleables, recording damage code information for each item. Store Reporting: APS Crew leave a handwritten waybill howing the total amount of items processed. A detailed collection report is sent to each Store Manager 24 to 48 hours after each visit, listing the items scanned. Transportation/Donation: Donatable items are collected and delivered to food banks (all members of the Canadian Association of Food Banks) in the same region. Disposal: Unsaleable items not suitable for donation are disposed of at the store to be taken to a landfill by a licensed waste hauler. Accounting/Reporting: At the end of each agreed period, APS provides distributors with customized accounting and management reports. Customized Co-ordination: APS coordinates the collection of all products. Service schedules can be adjusted to suit each location's needs. APS provides the only Store-Level Reclamation System that operates coast to coast across Canada. |
